Born and raised in the Austrian Alpes, Marie Frauenschuh’s early years were shaped by the natural beauty that surrounded her. As a daughter of artisans, she grew up in her family’s business, immersed in craftsmanship from a young age. It was here that she discovered the heart of true business: not consumption, but creation. Marie founded Materre with a vision—to redefine luxury as something rooted in simplicity, sustainability, and emotional connection.

However, growing up as generation Z, she noticed that although she is part of the most connected generation, this generation is also the loneliest and the ones faced with the greatest mental health challenges. She found healing through holistic approaches—through yoga, sound healing, and self-discovery. What began as a personal quest toward balance soon evolved into a mission to share her insights and create a space where others could find solace and renewal.
